🛠️ ChatGPT's image tool now edits just the part you ask it to.

OpenAI's ChatGPT, its AI chat assistant, just rolled out Images 2.5, an updated image model that edits only the specific part of a picture you ask it to change while keeping the rest intact, and OpenAI says it generates images up to 50% faster than the previous version. The update also adds templates for formats like flyers, posters, and product photos, where you pick a template and then add your own details, images, and styling. It's available today on all ChatGPT plans, including ChatGPT Work, and worth a look the next time someone on your team needs a marketing image edited.

🔒 Attackers are impersonating your IT team on Teams to get in

Microsoft's threat researchers are tracking a live campaign where someone posing as internal IT support messages an employee on Teams, talks them into granting remote control of their PC, then installs a hidden backdoor and works toward the systems that run your whole network. It looks like a normal support call, so tell staff to never grant remote access to an unsolicited "IT" contact without confirming through a known internal channel, per Microsoft's breakdown of the attack and how to shut it down.

🚪 NVIDIA has agreed to buy Hugging Face, the site behind millions of shared AI models, for $12.93 billion.

NVIDIA says it has agreed to acquire Hugging Face, the platform where more than 200,000 companies discover, customize, and deploy AI models and datasets, for $12,930,300,000. In the same post, Jensen Huang says the platform will stay open to the whole ecosystem, with no NVIDIA hardware or cloud required to build or deploy on it. No closing date is given, so there is nothing to do this week beyond noting who is set to own a platform your own tools may draw from.
